1. A method of estimating the elevation of a wireless terminal, the method comprising:
receiving, at a data processing system, a measurement of barometric pressure at a wireless terminal; generating an estimate of the lateral location of the wireless terminal; generating a stack-effect compensation model of elevation and observed barometric pressure for a structure at which the wireless terminal is located, wherein the stack-effect compensation model is generated based at least in part on the estimate of the lateral location of the wireless terminal; and generating an estimate of the elevation of the wireless terminal based on:
(i) the estimate of the lateral location of the wireless terminal,(ii) the measurement of barometric pressure at the wireless terminal, and(iii) the stack-effect compensation model of elevation and observed barometric pressure. |
