The glass keyboard has a keyboard surface made of a thin glass plate (2) and at least one carrier material plate (6) with electrically conducting layers on their facing surfaces held apart by a distance piece. The electrically conducting layers are brought into contact at the essentially point-shaped pressure loading points when the glass plate is subjected to pressure. The electrically conducting layers are connected to conducting tracks fed out on a lateral edge of the keyboard surface. A flexible flat strip multiple cable (64,68) is connected to the conducting tracks (62,66) via contacts (74,75). The flat cable and contacts are arranged between the thin glass plate and the carrier plate. An Independent claim is also included for a method of producing a glass keyboard.
