The lid (1) of the dustbin is constructed with a slamming-back and/or slamming-to damper. The manner of slamming-back damping are in the form of plastic cams installed on the lid hinge (3) in line with support ribs on the dustbin's handle. The slamming-to damper is one or more stops installed on the inner side in the encircling lid edge area and each locating in a cup on the inner side of the lid. The cups have vertical locking ribs on the inside.
