Echo cancellation method for hybrid circuit

The method involves dividing the signal (sa+ec) to be compensated and the received signal (sb) for the determination of correction signals (kL,kH) in several sub-bands. A compensated signal (sk1,sk2) is gained in each sub-band. A first compensation signal is gained only in one sub-band by a full filer (FIR1). A second compensation signal can be gained in at least a further sub-band using a filter arrangement consisting of an adjustable delay element (Z) and a reduced filter (FIR2). Preferably, the adjustment of the delay time of the delay element is controlled by the coefficients of the first filter so that the dead time of the echo signal is bridged.
