The foot can be attached to the base part (2) of a furniture item and can be manufactured as an one-piece foot or support member (3). The foot is connected to the base part by breaking points so that it resides inside the side projection of the base part. At the side of the base part at least two ribs/webs (6) are formed in the area of the outer wall so that they retain the breaking points.
