The rear pipe module (3) in the flow direction (STR) through which charge air (LL) firstly flows in its heat exchange capacity is smaller than the front pipe module (4) in the flow direction through which charge air subsequently flows. Both pipe modules on one face side (29,20) are provided with a common cover (10) for input and output of cooling water (KW) and on the other face side (54,26) have separable individual covers (13,14) for deflecting cooling water. The shell-shaped common cover is tightly supported by inner casing-type projections (28) of the cover base (15) on the facing outer sides (20,29) of the pipe base (8,6) of the pipe module (4,3) and is screwed releasably to the pipe base.
