Self sealing venting valve for helicopter fuel tank

A venting valve for a helicopter fuel tank (2) is fitted to the inside of the tank by a mounting flange (21) and is secured by shear bolts into a threaded insert in the airframe (41). If one of the screw loosens the spring loaded valve is released and the spring (69) presses a sealing element (68) into a sealing position to prevent spillage of fuel.
