PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent the supercoolng of a heat-reserving material compsn. by adding a layered silicate to a specific sugar alcohol. SOLUTION: A sugar alcohol is heated to its m.p. or higher and a layered silicate is added thereto. Compounding at least either erythritol or mannitol with a layered silicate prevents the supercooling and accelerates the crystallization. The content of the silicate in terms of inorg. ash is usually 0.1-20wt.%, pref. 0.3-15wt.%, still pref. 0.5-10wt.%. The heat-reserving material compsn. pref. contains a swellable silicate, still pref. a swellable synthetic mica. |
