During cornering, sensors measure transverse, essentially horizontal components of radial acceleration. A state magnitude corresponding with the centrifugal acceleration at the center of gravity is determined. From a weighted difference between values, the angle of vehicle roll is calculated. An Independent claim is included for the corresponding equipment.
