PURPOSE: A short message service method of a mobile communication switching device is provided to be able to directly perform a short message service through an access channel. CONSTITUTION: The short message service method contains the steps of: transmitting into a mobile call control block by composing a short message service data and a subscriber information by a operating device inner signal if receiving the signal to request the short message service data transmission from a base station controller in a mobile signaling access block inside a mobile communication operating device; inquiring a sending subscriber information by a caller position registering device if receiving the short message transmitting demand by the mobile call control block; searching by delivering a searching result data from the caller position registering device by the mobile call block; transmitting the short message service data through an access channel to the corresponding subscriber.
