PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the transmission reception system that is simply and easily configured by using an acoustic transmission path and where loss of comfort ableness of use is avoided and to provide the receiver, the transmitter and the information recording medium used in this transmission reception system and the transmission/reception method. SOLUTION: Sum frequency signals SA, SB at a quasi-audible frequency band of about 10 kHz or over are generated by mixing a conversion signal with a prescribed frequency of about 10 kHz or over with a DTMF signal resulting from coding control information. An inverse conversion signal SC resulting from the conversion signal is recorded on a CD with the sum frequency signals SA, SB. The sum frequency signals SA, SB and the inverse conversion signal SC are transmitted from speakers 1a, 1b of a radio cassette player 1 through acoustic transfer paths to a remote controller 11. The remote controller 11 receives the signals SA, SB, SC. The inverse conversion signal SC is mixed with the sum frequency signals SA, SB to generate a DTMF signal.
