PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the twisting of a channel tube for endoscope and the breaking of a spiral groove in the formation of the spiral groove while the channel tube for the endoscope is being rotated. SOLUTION: A wire 6 is wound on the outer circumference of a channel tube 2 for endoscope while the channel tube is being rotated to form a spiral groove. The machining apparatus is provide with a first bearing member 3 rotatable to bear one end of the channel tube 2 for the endoscope, a second bearing member 5 rotatable to bear the other end of the channel tube 2 for the endoscope and a drive source 23 to simultaneously rotate the first bearing member 3 and the second bearing member 5. Because of the simultaneous rotation of the first and second bearing members 3 and 5 for bearing both ends of the channel tube 2 for the endoscope, twisting and breaking of the spiral groove are eliminated.
