PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building with a balcony having rain and crime preventing performance during leaving and sleeping and comfortable living space while avoiding excessive sunlight in summer and allowing ventilation through an opening of a living room facing the balcony. SOLUTION: A balcony 1 for a building includes a floor portion 11 installed on the outdoor side facing an opening of a living room 2 and a roof portion 12 provided to be open/closed above the floor portion 11. The floor portion 11 has a vent hole 111 and a peripheral wall 13 erected therearound and the roof portion 12 reaches the upper part of the peripheral wall 13 during closing not to allow a person to enter.
