摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high hardness steel having cold workability not inferior to that of structural steel, capable of securing, on the other hand, an as-quenched hardness of >=HRC55 by induction hardening, and having corrosion resistance enough to prevent the occurrence of rusting in the ordinary indoor service environment. SOLUTION: As a basic alloy composition, this steel has an alloy composition consisting of, by weight, 0.30-0.60% C, <=0.25% Si, <=1.0% Mn, 4.0-11.0% Cr, and the balance essentially Fe. In addition to the basic alloy components, this steel can contain either or both of the following (I) and (II): (I) either or both of 0.04-0.2% N and 0.2-1.0% Mo; (II) either or both of 0.05-0.5% V and 0.05-0.5% Nb.
