The method involves using telephone number of common telephone line when dialing first subscriber, and activating reserved relays and expansion circuit via digit at dialing of second subscriber. The method involves connecting two telephones with own telephone number at a single conductor. Here the telephone number of the common telephone line is used when dialing the first subscriber, and a corresponding subscriber lamp (TL1) is activated. A reserved relay is activated through a digit at selection of the second subscriber, whose work contact (R-Kontakt) is closed for a while, and the connection is separated again. The normal telephone number of the common telephone line is dialed, and an expansion circuit is activated, which activates a second subscriber lamp (TL2) to differentiate between calls to the first and the second subscriber. An Independent claim is provided for a corresponding expansion circuit.
