PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device detecting a position is provided to detect a position accurately by constructing grids of X-axis and Y-axis and an electric potential compensating resistance for operating independently, thereby preventing a signal interference of adjacent grids and forming an equivalent electric potential for entire area of a tablet. CONSTITUTION: A switching unit comprises X-axis grids, Y-axis grids and a plurality of switching elements connecting to the X-axis grids. A switching unit(61a) comprises a plurality of switching elements connecting to the Y-axis grids, respectively. An electric potential compensating resistance(60) is connected to the switching units and laminated as a tree shape. A driving signal applying unit "A" applies a position signal to the electric potential compensating resistance(60). A control signal applying unit(62a) applies a control signal for controlling the switching unit(61a). In addition, a switching unit is formed extending upper, lower, left and right directions of a tablet. A control signal applying unit applies a control signal to the switching units, respectively.
