PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping body which effectively uses rubber as a waste material at low cost, has no limit in size of the product, and is less deteriorated by crushing the rubber or forming it into chips, by aggregating them, and by wrapping the aggregate with a rubber layer. SOLUTION: Upper/lower metal molds are closed so as to form a hemispherical cavity, which is filled with mixed compound, the metal mold is heated to a set vulcanized temperature, the pressure is held as it is, and after the lapse of a prescribed time, a rubber hemisphere 28 as a vulcanized product is taken out from the metal mold. Secondly, a used tire is roughly crushed by a grinding mill and finely crushed by a refiner, so as to be waste rubber 32, which is conveyed by a belt conveyer and put in the rubber hemisphere 28. Two rubber hemispheres 28 are prepared, thin unvulcanized rubber is applied on the rubber hemisphere 28 edge, and left/right rubber hemisphere 28 are stacked together. The joint part is heated and completely joined together so as to be formed into a rubber spherical body 34. There is no limit in the working size of the rubber spherical body 34 product and the used tire as a waste material can be effectively used so as to be a product eco-friendly to the global environment.
