PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display many kinds of pictures within a pattern and to prevent the forgery and the imitation of the pattern by providing plural kinds of cells consisting of a diffraction grating where the spatial frequency and the direction of a grating are changed within the pattern and including spatially superposed areas in the cell as a pixel. SOLUTION: Plural kinds of cells 1 and 2 consisting of the diffraction grating where at least any of the spatial frequency and the direction of the grating is changed are provided within the pattern and the cells 1 and 2 include the spatially superposed areas as the pixel. Namely, the diffraction grating pattern uses plural kinds of diffraction grating cells 1 and 2, and the picture is displayed by the different kinds of diffraction grating cells 1 and 2 by setting the spatially superposed area as the pixel. An independent picture is expressed by setting the diffraction grating cells having nearly the same angle as the pixel separately from the picture expressed in the superposed area of the diffraction grating cell. Namely, the picture is displayed by setting the diffraction grating as the pixel in the diffraction grating pattern.
