PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera whose main body structure is designed to be less projected and less recessed and which a cameraman easily holds against an object. SOLUTION: A floppy disk drive unit 30 is placed in a camera main body so that a radial direction of a floppy disk faces a photographing optical axis, a photographing optical system 22 is placed to a front side of the unit 80 in a radial direction of the floppy disk, and a prism 21 is placed to the lens unit 22 to lead a light of an object to the lens unit 22. Furthermore, a liquid crystal display device 5, a support member 10 and a shaft to support the liquid crystal display device 5 in a freely elevating and descending way are placed to a front face of the floppy disk drive unit 30. A support member 10 is unlocked by an operating knob and a lever, the entire face of the liquid crystal display device 5 is exposed to the outside of the camera main body and the user can confirm display contents in a horizontal direction.
