The paring machine has two spaced part and relatively movable attachments (1,2) for a sample (8) formed by sheet metal plates spot-welded together. The sample is fixed to the attachments so that the weld points are outside the fixing area of the attachments. The attachments are swivel mounted across the tension axis (A).so tat the sample for the paring test is fixed at a distance from the tension axis and from the swivel axes (B) across the direction of tension on the attachments.
