PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader that can correct color slurring with high precision by absorbing fluctuation in a carrying speed of an original so as to simplify the control. SOLUTION: A green G color separation filter 150 is fitted to an R(red), G(green), B(blue) line CCD sensor unit 94 to read an image recorded on a negative film 20 so that the same spectral sensitivity is provided at the same position of R, G, B line CCD sensors 94R, 94G, 94B, and the image data read by the part fitted with the G color separation filter 150 are used to detect a position deviation among the 3-line CCD sensors so as to correct color slurring.
