PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a battery or a lamp to be quickly exchanged when the battery is dead and the lamp is burnt out. SOLUTION: This portable endoscope 1 is constituted of an endoscope main body 2 inserted in a tube cavity so as to observe a subject, a lamp unit 3 freely attachably and detachably connected to the main body 2 so as to supply illumination light to the main body 2 and a dry battery system battery unit 4 which is freely attachably and detachably connected to the main body 2 as the different body from the unit 3 and which incorporates a dry battery so as to supply power source to the unit 3.
