PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an automatic shovel stand by that judges the turning direction corresponding to a previously set front no-trespass zone, when the shovel moves to a stand-by position at the time of an emergency. SOLUTION: In an automatic shovel for repeatedly operating a series of operation from the taught excavation to the taught release soil by regenerating operation, the shovel is provided with a means 314, 502, and 510 for setting a turning disapproving region of a front of the automatic operative shovel, a means 314, 502 for setting a machine waiting position, and 510, a means 509 for instructing turning operation by judging a turning direction to the machine waiting position corresponding to a set turning disapproving region at the time of waiting of machine.
