PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the transmission efficiency from decreasing by applying the shot peening to at least the mutual contact surfaces of a V block, and thereby specifying the inner hardness and surface hardness. SOLUTION: A metal belt 1 is applied with the shot peening for giving a wear resistance characteristic capable of sufficiently resisting againt wear in mutual contact surfaces S, at a surface of a V block 2, to have the surface hardness of 900 Hv or more. When the inner hardness of the block 2 is less than 650 Hv, it does not bear a normal load sufficiently, while in the case of that of more than 750 Hv the rigidity is lowered and it is made weak against a shock. Also, when the surface hardness of the block 2 after being subjected to the shot peening is less than 900 Hv, the wear resistance is not secured and lowering in the transmission efficiency caused by wear is not prevented sufficiently. The shot peening is carried out by jetting steel balles or glass beads of 0.01-0.05 mm in diameter at the speed of e.g. 100 m/sec. or more.
