Between the driver's seat (6) and the vehicle frame or floor (5) is an eccentric or crank mechanism. Preferably the mechanism comprises a fixed toothed segment (11) on a support pin (12), incapable of rotation in relation to the vehicle floor, and a second toothed segment (10) on a second support pin (9) which can rotate and is mounted on the seat base plate (8).
