PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject copolymer composed of specific urethane group- contg. structural unit(s) and nonaromatic structural unit with a wide range of the proportion of the former structural unit(s), and useful as a resin molded form or the like. SOLUTION: This copolymer is composed of urethane group-contg. structural unit(s) of formula I and/or formula III (R1 to R3 are each H or an alkyl; R4 and R5 are each H, an alkyl, hydroxyalkyl or aryl) and nonaromatic structural unit. This copolymer is obtained, preferably, by urethanization of a vinylethylene carbonate-based copolymer having vinylethyelne carbonate-based structural unit of formula III and nonaromatic structural unit with a nitrogen-contg. compound of formula IV in a polar solvent such as water, an alcohol or a mixture thereof, for example in the presence of a catalyst at -50 to 300 deg.C and normal pressures to 100 kg/cm2 or so.
