PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily producing a microporous material, and to provide a method for easily producing a microcell-containing composite material. SOLUTION: This method for producing a microporous material having a three- dimensional continuous net skeleton structure comprises mixing (A) 20-100 pts.wt. of an epoxy-modified block copolymer, (B) 0-50 pts.wt. of a cross-linking agent having at least one functional group capable of reacting with an epoxy group, (D) 0-50 pts.wt. of an inorganic filler and (E) a low mol.wt. material, homogeneously dissolving or dispersing (F) the obtained epoxy-modified block copolymer composition in a solvent, adding (C) 0.1-10 pts.wt. of a curing agent or curing accelerator for accelerating the curing reaction of the epoxy-modified block copolymer A alone or the curing reaction of the epoxy-modified block copolymer A with a cross-linking agent B to accelerate the cross linking reaction, and then removing the solvent and the low mol.wt. material E. The epoxy-modified block copolymer A is prepared by epoxidizing a block copolymer comprising (A1) a polymer block consisting mainly of monomer units based on a vinyl aromatic compound and (A2) a polymer block consisting mainly of monomer units based on a conjugated diene compound.
