A machine (1) for lateral correction of the position of a track (2), comprising a machine frame (4) supported on on-track undercarriages (3) and a stabilisation unit (9) connected to the machine frame (4) by means of lining drives (11) and having vibrators (20) for generating oscillations of the track, as well as a reference system having a reference base (13), with the lining drive (11) which is linked to the machine frame (4) being indirectly connected to the stabilisation unit (9) via a spacing member (10), characterised in that the spacing member (10) is designed as a rope (27) which is connected to the stabilisation unit (9).
