PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a nimble manipulation feel by providing the device with drive means for rotationally driving plural drive rollers arrayed in a transfer direction, supporting the drive roller on a recording medium insertion port side movably relative to the other drive rollers and detecting the movement of the drive rollers accompanying the insertion to the recording medium insertion port. SOLUTION: The drive rollers 41 to 44 are respectively rotationally driven counterclockwise by a roller drive mechanism 84 prior to loading of a disk. The disk 101 is inserted from an aperture formed at a front panel 2 and a supporting plate 48 supporting the drive roller 41 is turned clockwise against energizing force by the disk 101. A detecting switch 49 goes on and the slide plate drive mechanism rotates a pinion gear clockwise in accordance with the instruction of a microcomputer. As the disk 101 is inserted, the disk drive mechanism 40 and a guide member 50 are controlled to be moved in the direction where both are parted from each other by the drive force of the slide plate drive mechanism. The loading of the disk with the light insertion force is thus made possible.
