The withdrawal device(8) of the transporting system is installed on the transfer device(6) and is extendable in the direction of the storage place of the supply container(2). The withdrawal device is equipped with pivotable retaining elements(14,15) which engage with supply container for the transporting process. Locking means(9) are provided at the storage place to hold the supply container, and control elements are provided for the interaction of the retaining elements and the locking means. An Independent claim is included for a procedure for transporting of supply containers in which in its stored position the supply container is retained in its storage place by locking means, and for the withdrawal of the container the transfer device travels into the withdrawal position on guides(7A,7B).
