PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method to display a revolving speed, at which a reading operation of signals is conducted, in a disk player. SOLUTION: A check is conducted to find out the servo condition of a spindle motor system while it is accelerated to a target revolving speed (B). If a servo abnormality is generated (N in C) and reestablishing operations (D) are conducted for a prescribed number of times (Y in F), the target revolving speed is changed to a low revolving speed side and a change flag corresponding to the speed is set (G). If a signal reading operation is started, the revolving speed is displayed based on the flag.
