PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a carrying failure of a sheet or generation of a wrinkling of the sheet in a fixing device by moving and controlling a guide means guiding the sheet to the fixing device by a control means. SOLUTION: In this image forming device, the guide means guiding sheet to the fixing device is moved and controlled by the control means. That is, a guide position of the bottom guide plate 3 that guides and conducts the sheet to the fixing device can be automatically varied in the device. When the control is started, whether or not it is an inter-sheet mode or not is discriminated by set information of a mode selection key, if it is the inter-sheet mode, a solenoid is activated for a specified time or unitl the entered inter-sheet is ejected, the bottom guide plate 3 is moved to a position indicated by 3b and the sheet is proceeded to the fixing device guided by the bottom guide 3 in the position of 3b in image formation. The plate is returned to a standby state when the image formation is finished. In a case where it is not inter-sheet mode, image formation is carried out without activating the solenoid.
