Multi-cylinder piston engine, with four screws for each bearing cover

The engine has four bearing screws (8a, 8b) for each bearing cover. Two of these are fitted on each cylinder row side (1a, 1b). The outer ones project axially out from the center of the crankshaft bearing plane (11) towards the corresponding outer cylinder head screws (3b) of the same cylinder row. The inner ones project similarly towards the other cylinder row.
