PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive and couple an output shaft and a pivot shaft of an actuator at the time of glass closing while keeping high a silent property and durability without complicating control for the actuator. SOLUTION: A pivot shaft 10 for journaling a wiper arm 3 is penetrated through a glass 9 turningly opened and closed with respect to a vehicle body 7, and is supported turnably. The actuator 1 is provided in a vehicle body 7 side to turn an output shaft 5 within a prescribed angle range. This wiper device for a vehicle couples the pivot shaft 10 and the output shaft 5 at the time of closing the glass 9, and oscillates the wiper arm 3 based on the drive of the actuator 1 to wipe a glass 9 surface. The actuator 1 stops the output shaft 5 at a prescribed set angle at the time of its stopping. Holding means 12b, 13 for holding the pivot shaft 10 to be connectable to the output shaft 5 the time of opening thereof are provided in the glass 9 side.
