PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of a detecting member projecting from a connector housing to enhance operability. SOLUTION: In this connector, a detecting member 20 is displaced toward a flexible space 13 of a lock arm 11 to detect a fitting state after fitting. At this time, the detecting member 20 is displaced between a waiting position and a detecting position along an arc path so that the displacement path is elongated compared with the displacement linearly displacing the distance between these positions and an operator can really feel the detecting operation. When the detecting position is set on a fixed position and the distance along the displacement path between these positions is determined, the displacement path is shortened compared with the linear displacement path so that the amount of the projection of the detecting member 20 projecting from a connector housing 10 can be reduced when the detecting member 20 is projected from the connector housing 10 on the waiting position.
