PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic reproducing device of a normal band mode capable of effectively reproducing a video signal recorded by a wide band mode. SOLUTION: In the case of reproducing a signal recorded by the wide band mode by using the normal band mode, a luminance signal processing circuit system constitutes a sub-deemphasis characteristic of a linear deemphasis circuit 12 and a non-linear deemphasis circuit 14 and a chrominance signal processing circuit system is constituted so as to remove a pilot burst signal by using a muting signal generated by a muting pulse generation circuit 23 after converting a reproduced chrominance signal into a high band signal by a conversion circuit 20.
