The plate material comprises a core layer with a non-recrystallized structure, and skin layers with a recrystallized structure. A readily deformable, low alloyed, cold-rolled steel plate material with a structure that varies over the plate thickness, contains a non-recrystallized structure in a core layer, enclosed by skin layers with a recrystallized structure. An Independent claim is also included for a method of making the steel plate.
