A substrate of recording, comprising a base and a polyguanidine salt of general formula (1) contained in the base wherein R<1> and R<2> are each independently a member selected from the group consisting of divalent aliphatic hydrocarbon groups, divalent aromatic hydrocarbon groups and divalent alicyclic hydrocarbon groups; HX is an acid selected from the group consisting of mineral acids and organic ones; and p is an integer of 1 to 250.
