PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a sheet material which has proper hardness and proper flexibility and has improved processability, and to provide a tableware which comprises the sheet material. SOLUTION: This sheet material is formed by mixing kenaf pulp with bamboo pulp and then making the sheet material from the mixed pulps. The contents of the kenaf pulp and the bamboo pulp are 20 to 80 wt.% and 80 to 20 wt.%, preferably 20 to 40 wt.% and 80 to 60 wt.%, especially preferably 30 wt.% and 70 wt.%, respectively, based on the mixed pulps. The tableware for receiving foods is formed by forming the sheet material into a prescribed shape such as a cup, pot or box-like shape.
