PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a candle which is hardly put out even when wind blows and of which the combustion residue is decreased by constructing it from a combustible material consisting mainly of wax and a wick in the form of a hollow tube in such a manner that the wick moves through a penetrating hole formed in the combustible material. SOLUTION: Preferably, the wick is formed by knitting or combining cotton threads and has at least one cut formed from the bottom side (a side which is at the bottom when the candle is used). Preferably, the wick is caused to protrude from the bottom side. Since the candle is fixed by inserting the wax support needle of a candlestick into the hole of a hollow tubular wick, the candle does not fall down and can be used safely. Furthermore, since the wick can move through the penetrating hole of the combustible material, the lower end of the wick easily reaches the saucer of the candlestick, thus causing the candlewick to surround the candle support needle and to absorb wax collected on the saucer to completely combust the wax.
