A process for coating woven or knitted plastic textile fabric with polymer (especially PVC paste) in which the coating polymer is predried to a gel-like, brittle state, applied with a laminating pressure such that it adheres to the fibres even when the fabric is stretched on the stretcher frame, and then converted into the elastic state in the drying or gelling channel. A process for the production of polymer-coated (especially PVC-coated) woven or knitted plastic fabric (especially textile-like fabrics) in which the coating is applied by known reversal processes (or directly) in amounts of 80-300 g/m<2> so that, due to the lamination pressure, the polymer adheres exceptionally well to the fibres even when the fabric is stretched. The coating polymer used is predried to a gel-like, brittle state. After removing the release paper or fabric, the coated product is placed on a stretcher frame, stretched in one or both directions in the still-cold feeding section and then brought to an elastic state in the drying or gelling channel (gelled or optionally foamed in the case of PVC). If foamable PVC paste is used, air permeability is controlled by the amount of paste applied and the degree of foaming (depending on the type of textile substrate).
|
