The treatment instrument has a flexible sleeve (1) insertable and removable into and from a duct in the endoscope. The distal end (1a) of the sleeve protrudes out of the duct and has a treatment element (5). The sleeve end is more rigid than in the proximal (1b) part next to the distal end section. The sleeve consists of metal wire wound into a spiral of even diameter.
