PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leakage current detection device which is applied to an electric apparatus to detect the leakage state of the apparatus and can detect the leakage state corresponding to an installation place. SOLUTION: The leakage current of an image forming device is detected by a leakage current detection circuit 101, and a leakage period while the leakage current is generated is measured by a CPU 105. The detected leakage current value is compared with a predetermined value, the measured period is compared with a predetermined period, and the leakage state of the image forming device is detected in accordance with the comparison results. For that purpose, the predetermined value and predetermined period are set by the CPU 105 in accordance with the operation inputs of an operation unit 103 and stored in a memory 106. If the leakage state is detected in accordance with the set predetermined value and period, a switch 104 is operated to cut off current application to a plurality of loads.
