PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system, where a transfer destination can record caller information including a name. SOLUTION: When this communication system receives a SUB signal, including a FAX number of a transfer destination and data denoting a transferred document from a customer's facsimile terminal 31 or the like, a facsimile terminal 1 reads document data (e.g. a quatation) to be transferred from a file server 2 on the basis of data denoting the transferred document, converts the data into coded image data according to the MMR system or the like and once stores the image data to an image memory. Succeedingly, the facsimile terminal 1 reads a name of a transfer destination on the basis of the FAX number of the transfer destination and adds the image data to a header part of the image data. Then a call is made to the FAX number of the transfer destination, and the facsimile terminal 1 transmits (transfers) the image data. Thus, the facsimile terminal of the transfer destination can record caller information including a name (recipient), when the image data are recorded onto recording paper.
