PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly and quickly join members in a whole area by forming similar projecting and recessing parts which are aligned in a row each other on both of a turnable cylindrical horn and an anvil. SOLUTION: An ultrasonic joining is carried out where a second member W2 to be joined having a comparatively small thickness composed of various materials similar to those of a first member W1 to be joined is laid on the first member W1 to be joined having a comparatively large thickness and composed of metallic material, textile, paper, plastic material, and others, in a laminated state with a constant space, and is inserted between a cylindrical horn 510 and a rotary anvil 520. In this case, each surface of the cylindrical horn and the rotary anvil 520 is formed with projecting and recessing parts of fine dimensions, and fine projecting and recessing parts of the cylindrical horn 510 are aligned in a row with the similar fine projecting and recessing parts of the rotary anvil 520. Thus an ultrasonic wave vibration is uniformly given and a stable and uniform bonding by fusion is realized.
