PURPOSE: A noise absorption apparatus for rotary compressor is provided to absorb the noise generated due to the pulse of heat exchange medium when the heat exchange medium recovered through the accumulator is introduced into the cylinder chamber. CONSTITUTION: A noise absorption apparatus comprises a compressor body having an outlet pipe and an inlet pipe; a motor disposed in the upper portion of the compressor body, and which has a rank shaft; a cylinder(410) having a hollow cylinder chamber(420) and a heat exchange medium inlet path(450) penetrating through the inlet pipe and the cylinder chamber; upper and lower flanges disposed onto and beneath the cylinder so as to close the cylinder chamber; and a noise absorption unit installed in the heat exchange medium inlet path, and which absorbs the noise generated by the pulse of the heat exchange medium introduced into the cylinder chamber. The noise absorption unit includes a first pipe(510) tightly contacting the inner periphery of the heat exchange medium inlet path; a second pipe(520) having an outer periphery spaced apart from the inner periphery of the first pipe, wherein the second pipe has a plurality of through holes(530) formed at the outer periphery of the second pipe; and a seal member(540) for forming a space between the inner periphery of the heat exchange medium inlet path and the outer periphery of the second pipe.
