Shoe press (SP) has press shoe (1), counter roll (CR), extended nip, circulated flexible belt and loading cylinder(s) (LD). LD presses press shoe in the direction of CR. LD has cylinder or piston turnably mounted about an axis (C) and working chamber with axis (C1) eccentric to axis (C). SP has operating unit with actuating member for turning cylinder or piston, in order to control SP pressure. Shoe press (SP) has press shoe, counter roll (2), extended nip (N) formed between them for running a paper or cardboard web with circulated flexible belt (3) and loading cylinder(s) (LD) (6) arranged between horizontal beam (4) of frame system and press shoe. LD presses press shoe in the direction of counter roll. LD has cylinder or piston turnably mounted about an axis (C) and working chamber with axis (C1) eccentric to axis (C). SP has operating unit for turning cylinder or piston of LD, in order to control pressure of shoe press. The operating unit has an actuating member extending outside the belt (3).
