PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a composition that has a little greasy feel and is excellent in emulsion stability when the composition is added to water to be self- emulsified by blending a polar oil and a nonionic surfactant in a specified ratio. SOLUTION: The composition is produced by blending 40-99.5 wt.%, based on the composition, polar oil and 0.5-60 wt.%, based thereon, nonionic surfactant represented by the formula. In the formula, each of R1, R2 and R3 represents independently H or a 16-22C branched fatty acid residue, with the proviso that all of R1, R2 and R3 cannot be H at the same time; a, b and c are each independently an integer of not less than 1; and a+b+c is 10 to 30. As a polar oil, a rapeseed oil is particularly preferable. As a nonionic surfactant, a polyoxyethylene isostearate hardened castor oil is preferable, and one having an HLB of 4-7 is particularly preferable. The composition is used in a hair cosmetic, a skin cosmetic, a bath agent, a skin external preparation such as an ointment or the like, a detergent composition or the like such as a makeup remover, a face wash, a hair shampoo, a body shampoo or the like.
