PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make compressibility transmission data volume by transmitting identification data for identifying data instead of quotation data together with return data in the case of returning data such as an electronic mail. SOLUTION: A CPU 41 displays an operation menu on a display device 45 so that a user can select an operation, judges the existence/absence of a key input from an input device 42 and selects processing to be executed on the basis of an key input in the case of the existence of the key input. When a transmission mode is selected here, migration is made to transmission mail preparation processing, the transmission destination of a mail is set according to an input signal from the device 42, the existence/absence of the input of a transmission key is judged, a personal computer 4 is made to connect to a provider through a communication controller 44 when the input of the transmission key exists, the mail is transmitted to a mail server 3, the connection with the provider is disconnected and the operation menu is shown on the device 45.
