Surface coated manganese sulfide (MnS) is obtained by adding 0.01-10 wt.% a wax, ester of an (in)organic acid, oil, low-melting polymer and/or mono- or polyhydric 2-12 carbon (C) aliphatic alcohol to MnS powder and mixing until homogeneous. Independent claims are also included for (a) the production of coated MnS by the method; (b) sintering powder containing the coated MnS; (c) a molding process using sintering powder; (d) moldings produced in this way.
